I recently wrote a post called ‘Value Your Wedding‘. I tried to break down the dollars spent versus time spent in a
wedding. I want to take this a bit further and talk about the friends and family, gathered in your honor, involved in this process as well. All this is in an effort to help Brides, Grooms, and Guests of Honor visualize what is going to happen on a day that has so much riding on it.
Here in Knoxville, Ogle Entertainment is thankful to provide DJ/MC and Lighting services along with all different types of vendor support for many types of weddings. These weddings range from 40 guests to 500 guests. Their themes range from southern, vintage, modern, ethnic, urban and many more. Most weddings in the Knoxville area that use a DJ, stay between 75 and 200 guests. To make the math easy I am going to use a 180 person, four hour reception, as an example.
In this example, you are officially married and recess down the aisle and life is good! Your guests head on to the reception and the clock starts. Most of the family begins the process of post ceremony family pictures which is one of THE most important things in the wedding day. After all, these images will last you a lifetime and be something you look to in good times and bad. So let’s say these pictures take and hour and you travel to the reception to have the time of your life with all 180 of your friends and family. You now have three hours to dance, eat, take more pictures, have some laughs, and hug some necks. 180 necks. So 180 guests, divided by three hours, is 60 people an hour for you to celebrate with. This equals One person a minute. I don’t say this to scare you, or make you have an anxiety attack. I say it to educate you and help you understand the future and how quickly your wedding day will move. This is why hiring an experienced coordinator, photographer, caterer and DJ pays off! In future blogs, I will go over some tips and tricks for slowing the process of this socialization down some for you and your new spouse. So please check back in with us for more information to come!
